Particularly the unlikely allies Serena Joy and June. Serena Joy, a former architect of Gilead and an outspoken leader in her community, pairs well with the writer/editor June.
The Mexican American story about two sisters reuniting at their childhood home in East LA after the death of their mother Vidalia, struck a deep core with me. Created by Tanya Saracho, the show has humor, politics, Mexican traditions and my favorite, a healthy sprinkle of Spanish and Spanglish language.
